WELLNESS SOLUTIONS
Prescriptions for Health
If your diet is causing you illness and you do not address it, you could easily end up suffering for many years, spending thousands of dollars for treatments that will never work the way you want them to, because they are likely addressing the symptoms and not the cause of your condition.
What’s the solution? Identify a healthy diet suitable for your individual body and condition and feel better. Nutrition therapy treats the whole person, not the symptom.
The era of sweeping dietary recommendations for the whole population –often known as fads- has come to an end. Red wine may be better for your arteries than ice cream, but you can’t create a one-size fits all diet that is optimal for everyone. Individuals have widely varying responses to high or low-fat diets, wine, salt, dairy, wheat, even exercise.
My approach to wellness is balance and moderation. Becoming authentically healthy requires a program of proper nutrition and exercise, detoxification and hormone balancing and stress management.
I consider the whole body and treat each person individually. Every person is biologically unique and has very different needs. In order to address those needs, a unique program must be developed for every individual. One size does not fit all.____________________________________________________
The doctor of the future will give no medicines, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the causes of disease.

While doctors write prescriptions to target your health problems, I write recipes and meal plans—and unlike dietitians, I do not necessarily follow the government food guidelines when giving advice. The ADA guidelines do not consider bio-individuality and the need to address specific health concerns as a whole person.
Functional Medicine and Nutrition Therapy
Currently, the western medicine model is an acute care model directed in suppressing the expression of symptoms. This acute care model while invaluable when needed for trauma and emergency care can be problematic for chronic disorders. Suppressing symptoms long term can lead to changes in many physiological systems that become precursors to other signs and symptoms that later may be diagnosed as organ system disease. Examining the clinical imbalances that underlie a disease or condition offers a greater understanding of the functionality of the body’s systems and to correct any imbalances. Common imbalances often include:
- digestive, absorptive, and microbiological imbalances
- hormonal and neurotransmitter imbalances
- detoxification and metabolic imbalances
- immune imbalances and inflammatory imbalances
- structural imbalances, from cellular membrane function to musculoskeletal systems
Food & Fitness Coaching
Earth and Water Wellness offers you "food and fitness coaching" in the form of individualized nutrition and fitness programs along with lifestyle wellness support to help you along your journey towards wellness. Whether you are concerned about a specific health issue or you just want to become more educated in how to eat more nutritious meals and incorporate more activities into your daily life, nutrition and fitness consultation can address these issues.
I specialize in mood and behavior management (stress and anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD) weight management and dysfunctional eating and sports nutrition and post-operative rehabilitation. However, there are many issues that can be supported and corrected through dietary changes and nutrition therapy. Could some of your health concerns be addressed by a nutrition and fitness assessment? The answer is probably yes.

Wellness Programs & Packages
(Under Construction)
Earth and Water Wellness offers several programs specifically developed for certain condition management. There are also several packages available that make reaching your goals much more possible with services grouped within a complete package.
Therapeutic Modalities
The programs that I recommend emphasize complete wellness and balance. As a nutrition therapist and personal trainer, I develop specific programs for each client, taking into account all aspects of their life and the bio-chemical individuality of each person; all of which has an impact on a person's present state of wellness. After the assessment, a program of diet, exercise and supplementation is specifically designed to the individuals' needs.
Simplicity - -the simpler the food, the better it usually is for you. Look at the ingredient list on a package of food; if the list is extensive with many words that you don’t know, don’t eat it. An apple is an apple. A carrot is a carrot and even some brands of ice cream contain just milk, sugar and cream.
Fitness Footprints
Moving is an essential part of life. Our bodies were made to move. One part of the equation essential for hormone balancing, blood sugar stabilization and immune boosting, for example, includes exercise, best performed in the fresh air and sunshine.
Inner Balance
My approach to wellness is the incorporation of the natural world in all areas of your life; through the food that we eat, the activities that we choose, the places that we surround ourselves in; by balancing your life through nature, you will ground yourself and be more able to tackle the daily challenges of life.
I also believe that by caring for our bodies and minds, we can care for the Earth, too. When we become more conscious of ourselves, we become more conscious of the impact that our lifestyles can have both locally and globally.
"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
