If you have ever wondered what it would be like to complete a 5K, hike a wooded trail, climb a mountain or canoe a river, you can stop wondering. At the Earth and Water Wellness Institute, we believe that nature's dirt is one of the most beneficial forms of therapy. We suggest getting a little dirty on a daily basis - wandering in the woods, enjoying the sunshine or planting an herb garden.
The outdoor wellness programs, courses and retreats focus on building strength and leadership skills through outdoor and wilderness-based programs and activities, including, but not limited to the following:
Cooking While Camping, Know Nutrition on the Trail, Leave No Trace, Rope Skills, Wilderness First Aid
Breathing and Meditation, Confidence Building and Conquering Fear, Leadership Skills, Reflection and Writing, Self-Discovery, Trust and Communication
Women's Outdoor Wellness Adventures & Wilderness Retreats The women's outdoor wellness (WOW) adventures and retreats usually, but not always, focus on a specific activity or topic; but they always embrace the concept of empowerment and confidence. The retreats are an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of self-discovery and renewal. It's OK if participants are not sure about the "outdoorsy" thing or if you're not really that "down to earth" because the Institute offers various levels and a variety of activities along with options to accommodate most comfort levels. However, please note, there will not be a "glamping" option. Remember, the programs are aimed to be about empowerment and it is during the outdoor adventures and retreats that some of the greatest progress is often made and the team's personal favorite learning format, as well!
Our Women's Wellness Adventures meetup group offers green-living field trips, wellness workshops and outdoor explorations and activities that support personal and planetary health and happiness. While these meetups are for women only, many of the wellness workshops are available for anyone to join.
