As a Certified Nutrition Therapist, I empower individuals with the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to lead healthy and balanced lives.  I encourage and promote balanced eating and lifestyles, using the nutrition of whole foods and therapeutic supplements and the support of functional movement and lifestyle management to balance the body’s systems.  I recommend guidelines based on YOUR good EATS-Essential Action Tips & Strategies- specific to your needs to nourish your body, mind and life.  My goal is to educate you with the information, guidelines and tools that will empower you to reach your individual health & wellness goals.


Your diet and lifestyle should NOT:

  • Impede your health, activities, work or family life;
  • Make you depressed, bloated, irritable, tired, overweight, underweight or cause digestive stress;
  • And it should NOT cause you guilt, anxiety, worry, confusion or obsession!

Your diet and lifestyle SHOULD:

  • Support your overall health (body, mind and life), activity level, work and aspirations
  • Feel comfortable, be appetizing and satisfying
  • Help you feel centered and calm with a clear and focused mind and disposition
  • Keep your weight and energy at a comfortable and optimal level naturally and with minimal effort and confusion

The Ways to Wellness Sustainable Health & Happiness

Earth and Water Wellness is based on guiding the process of lifestyle change.  The programs offer something beyond the traditional approach to health and wellness, beyond the “clinical” approach to nutrition.  You not only receive the WHAT, but you also receive the ever important HOW!  We all may have the “know”, but without the “how”, it doesn't do us much good!  The food therapy support and lifestyle retreats will introduce ideas and techniques that give you the know-how for sustainable healthy living.

Balance is not achieved by adding one more appointment to the “to-do” list.  With the support of an online Wellness Community and by learning through doing you will experience the ease of eating green (which by the way, does NOT mean all lettuce and "healthy" foods...remember, I am The Dirty Girl!) and the joys of living well! 

The programs take you through a therapeutic and strategic system for creating gradual and lasting change.  And, since the format is flexible and can often be accessed from virtually anywhere with phone and/or computer access, it is ideal for those of us who have busy schedules (who doesn't these days?) and who would rather be outside getting dirty or playing with their kids than driving across town to another office.  Food, eating and weight are sensitive issues that take time (and accountability) to create those lasting changes, which is why many people benefit greatly from having the flexibility and affordability of the online community.

Any program that doesn’t take your likes & dislikes, lifestyle and unique biochemistry into account is destined to fail.  More importantly, the program must consider what exactly your health and wellness goals are and how you want to execute the plan, it must be one that you can work into your daily life so that it becomes habitual and sustainable.

The cornerstone of functional nutrition refers to the use of whole foods to maintain health and therapeutic supplements to manage and support imbalances.  It may not be enough to just eat a “good diet”…a good diet for whom?  Underlying imbalances that may be causing physical and/or mental ill-health should be supported through foods that will strengthen your body's physiological systems = YOUR GOOD FOOD.


Personalized Nutrition Therapy Profiles (Individual preventative care & support programs)

The goal is to correct any imbalances before they become chronic diseases through individual assessment. The Personalized "EatGreen"Nutrition Therapy Profiles and Food Therapy Packages provide the personal touch to wellness without the hassle.  

The programs
 include phone support, online community forum and in-home visits. Support sessions may also include Alternative & Complimentary Therapies Review* - a coordination of information and resource gathering regarding a particular condition of concern; including  program referrals,  alternative practitioner review and referrals of where to go for the latest research  and nutrition information.

* If you have a family member just diagnosed with a specific condition (autoimmune condition, mental illness or physical issue or a chronic condition, etc.), please contact me and we can  schedule an Alternative & Complimentary Therapies Review.  


"My Wellness" Starter Kits and Foundational Packages

Not quite ready to take the plunge into wellness?  The "My Wellness" Kits and Starters Packages are a great way to "dip your toes" into the world of wellness.  Kits are still based on your personal wellness assessment results, but support is gained through the "self-guided" Recommendations guidebooks that accompany your starter kit. 


Livin' Lean Lessons & Small Group Immersions 

(Online Group and Self-guided programs for learning the art and science of living lean)

Educational lessons with assessments and recommendations based on YOUR personal results.  The interactive and self-guided programs take you through a curriculum that provides you with the tools and knowledge necessary to bridge the gaps and create the connections for balanced body, mind, and lifestyle health... the key to sustainable healthy and happy living!



Community Events & Learning Experiences

(Budget Friendly, Facilitated, Create-Your-Own & Join when you Want Events)

The Community Wellness Experiences include classes, talks, workshops, one-time events, and interactive gatherings...via teleconferences, community gardens, restaurants, your home, or your backyard!


Where to Begin:  Mapping Your Route

Step 1a: We’ll Chat!  There are several different paths to take on your way to wellness, which is why we encourage you to schedule a complimentary "Get Acquainted" call to help us determine if the programs and courses offered through the Earth and Water Wellness Institute fit your needs.  Schedule a time to talk privately one-on-one, for about 15 minutes, to discuss your concerns and what approach may best suit you.  


Step 1b: Enroll - If you are ready to get started, go ahead and begin the enrollment process online at any time.  Or, you have the option to complete your enrollment application over the phone.

If you aren't sure which direction is the bast for you to take at this particular time, complete the "
Get Started Right" questionnaire (just a few questions that will help map out the most effective way to wellness).  We can discuss this during our 15-minute chat.  

Completing the questionnaire does NOT lock you into any program, so if you feel that you are lacking balance and could benefit from some food and lifestyle support, complete it today!  You will be ONE STEP CLOSER to sustainable health & happiness


Step 2: We’ll Strategize After you complete the "Get Started Right" questionnaire, we will strategically determine the most effective route for your situation, considering any constraints.  This may include individual one-on-one work with me, group wellness support, following the self-guided care kit, becoming a member of the "EatGreen" Wellness Community, joining us at an event/workshop/or clinic or possibly being referred to another practitioner.

Step 3: You’ll Decide & Commit
  • Personalized Nutrition Therapy Profiles - For those with a specific health challenge or concern, a personalized nutrition program is recommended. Programs are designed specifically for each client.  Ongoing support is highly beneficial for monitoring the effectiveness of the program and determining if any changes need to be made to the program.  A minimum commitment of six (6) follow-up sessions after the “Comprehensive Wellness Assessment” and Report of Findings consult should be expected.  The LiveWell Membership Program is also an effective and affordable option.  However, you do have the option to order a Profile Evaluation with no additional personal support.  
  • Wellness Starter Kits & Self-Guided Care Packages – Maybe you just need a bit of a tweak or want to slowly enter the water, the Starter Kits are a great route to take.  You receive a Welcome to Wellness Review with the recommended Kit and/or Package which includes a comprehensive “Guidebook” with menu plans, recipes, strategies outlined and additional support resources; but it is up to you to “read the map”, so to speak and implement the recommendations to get you to your destination.    
  • Community Memberships & Livin' Lean Lessons  – Becoming a member of The Livin' Lean Community (TLLC) will allow you to receive support at the level that you are comfortable with and still allows you to move forward on your way to weight loss and wellness.  If weight loss is your primary concern, there are several ways we can work together to address weight and food issues - individually, as a small group or through the online community and self-guided lessons.  For those wanting a fully-supported and affordable option, the group Livin’ Lean Lessons help people make sense of all the information that’s out there in the arena of weight, wellness, food, eating and supplements. 
  • Interactive Experiences & Online Classes - Have a group of friends, colleagues or community members interested in wellness?  The classes are a great way to dip your toes in the water (no serious commitment involved).  Join me for an afternoon of cooking and/or a wellness discussion and words of advice.  Form a custom “create-your-own-adventure” with your friends, and receive support and guidance together as a group.  Contact us to find out more about the options and formats available.
  • Healthy@Home Immersions - Sometimes all one needs is a bit of support on what to eat and how to cook healthier. In these cases, home visits, kitchen clinics and lifestyle support days offer the solution to your situate. You have a full day to declutter your kitchen of non-nutritionals, go to the market, learn the quick and easy steps to successful shopping and then get some cooking tips and tricks to make fast and easy to prepare “EATGREEN” meals.  This is the signature program of the Earth and Water Wellness Institute that many of the community members have found very valuable.  Your support network is welcome to join us; bring along a friend or two and invite your family members, we can set up a small group wellness immersion. 

Step 4: You'll Receive Personal Guidance Depending on the route taken, recommendations and guidelines are based on your situation, your history, your food intake, your symptoms (observed by you), your metabolic balance (interpreted from your input) and your blood, saliva and/or poop (results interpreted functionally).  The various inputs will vary with the level of commitment/membership.  


Step 5: You’ll Do It - Following your good EATS (the Essential Action Tips & Support Strategies), you’ll implement the lessons, your plan, your good EATS and start living your good life, taking daily steps to reach your ultimate success!  The implementation of your wellness program is the most important part of the equation.  Without the doing part, there is no balance.  The "Welcome to Wellness" assessments form the structure of your good EATS (essential action tips and strategies), which are then coupled with the chosen lifestyle support option(s). 


Step 6: You'll Receive Community Support & Professional-Guidance - Through either the community membership plans or support packages, you have the option to receive ongoing support and motivation.

How Will We Work Together?

Skype/FaceTime Video-Chat / Telephone Sessions

Are you slammed with "to-do's" and "have to get here's"?  Does the thought of scheduling one more appointment exhaust you?  Would you appreciate the flexibility of a telephone & online supportFor the convenience of clients who do not live locally, have a jam packed schedule already or cannot be seen in person due to certain circumstances, the Earth and Water Wellness programs are available as telephone support sessions.  You will go through the exact same process you would if we visited at a healthcare center, but with the convenience of being able to join the program from anywhere. Consider the benefits.

 

Healthy@Your Home

Do you want to get it done and start living there good life ASAP?  For personal nutrition and lifestyle support, I offer in-home "immersions" where we work together in the comfort of your own home.  Contact us for details on the locations and availability of the Healthy@Home Immersions.  Additional charges may apply outside certain service areas.  The awesome part, once you complete a Healthy@Home Immersion, it's that much more effective to complete the Livin' Lean Lessons or receive Food Therapy support.  (Bring a friend--or two--for extra fun!)



Small Group Immersions

Did you know...groups and camaraderie increases oxytocin-the neurotransmitter that evokes feelings of contentment, reduction in anxiety, and feelings of calmness and security?  Create a custom small group immersion or join the Livin' Lean Lessons and progress together to success!   An Earth and Water Wellness Small Group program allows you to get 1-on-1 attention while sharing the experience with a small group.  


You can organize your own small group or submit your name to be put on the list for the next scheduled small group program or immersion.  The program sessions will be hosted in the privacy of your own home or community center.  This is an excellent option for those who want to STOP THE STRUGGLE and are looking for the camaraderie from peer group support. 

 

Wilderness Retreats

The Women's Wellness Retreats focus on the curriculum within the Livin' Lean Support programs…except we take our learning experiences outdoors!  This is an awesome immersion into the world of self-discovery and renewal.  Not sure about the whole experience? Not really that holistic and down to earth….that’s OK, because we have accommodations for all comfort levels – from hotels of your choice (not always recommended, but an option for some of the retreats), to yurts, to tents (yours or ours) to sleeping under the stars…weather permitting!  This is my personal favorite!

  • Are you a home body that wants to create wellness within your own private "retreat"?
  • Are you a hands-on learner?  Do you want to experience the "how-tos" along the way?
  • Would you like continued support and guidance in creating the changes that you are striving for?
  • Do you love a bit of outdoor adventure? 

 

Flexible Health: The Benefits of TelePrograms & Virtual Learning

1. Convenience. We are a society who have lived with drive through banking and fast food eating and are rapidly moving in the direction of drive through pharmacies and dry cleaning.  We live in a fast paced world; when we can also work education and personal development into our busy schedules and on our own terms we find that there are no more excuses anymore - it's time to live well.


2. Flexibility. You can attend the group sessions at the scheduled time or listen to the sessions and complete your “learning assignments” during your lunch break, while the kids are practicing soccer, or while cooking dinner (however, too much multi-tasking is discouraged). You do not need to rush to get to your next appointment or deal with the afternoon traffic every night at 6:00pm. You will now have the option of discovering your wellness ingredients through the learning assignments in the morning, afternoon, or after those 2 a.m. feedings when you can’t seem to get back to sleep.

 

3. Green-Learning. There isn’t enough that can really be said about this; The Earth and Water Wellness Institute is all about reducing our footprint and creating more sustainable living.  The online and virtual courses and programs help you avoid the weekly or monthly commute to another appointment because the sessions come to you wherever you happen to be and have access to a phone and ability to connect to the internet for the online learning.  Whether you are at home, at work, on the road or at your favorite get-away, you can have the convenience of learning in an environment in which you are comfortable and at ease. 


4. Less Expensive.  No more on the road convenience meals, figuring out what to do with the kids, weather and traffic stress or gas guzzling trips to a medical clinic forty minutes away twice a week.  You can now enjoy in your own home the benefits of a clinical nutrition program without many of the financial and time management hardships that are often associated with healthcare.  


5. Confidentiality.  Most importantly, food and eating can be a very sensitive subject for many. However, many individuals feel more comfortable and are able to express themselves more easily through the online and virtual programs; and remember, you still have in-person options available to you, but the Community Forum is an added bonus to help you stay on target.

Get a few of your friends, colleagues or neighbors together and schedule an afternoon or evening of fun and interactive discussions and demonstrations with a focus of your choice.  Learn the how-tos of quick and easy meal prep and the ins and outs of balanced eating for your general needs! It's a fabulous excuse to get together!  Best of all…they are very well priced! (Fees range from complimentary to a small charge depending on your needs and format.)
  • "Words of Wellness" Get-togethers and Kitchen Slim-Down Solution shows (featuring The Pampered Chef(R) products) are perfect for smaller groups, neighborhood social groups, friends, as well as offices and community organizations.  Get-together locations are generally determined by the "host" - home, office, recreation center, etc.  For more information on hosting a Get-Together or Pampered Chef Cooking Show, let me know!.
  • Community Talks - Join the discussions and get to know what it truly means to live clean in a dirty and chaotic world. There are two opportunities to hear what the Dirty Girl has to say, the FIRST FRIDAY of every month for Tea and Transformation Talks at 10am and on the third MONDAY at 5:30pm for Dirty Discussions, a conversation about the toxic foods, thoughts and lifestyles that may be keeping you sick, fat and tired!

Nutrition Therapy and additional services may not be covered by insurance; however, we will provide you with the proper documentation to assist you in being reimbursed by your insurance company directly.  All costs are the sole responsibility of the client.  Please check with your insurance company to see if nutrition counseling and wellness consultation is covered.
