The "Earth and Water" in Wellness
We are concerned about the personal and environmental impact of processed foods and poor nutrition in the U.S. and around the world. We are also concerned about the growing phobia to dirt and disconnectedness to nature and dependence on technology. We strive to help guide individuals closer to being "off the grid" and outside for sustainable health and happiness.
We believe that there is nothing more therapeutic than a day spent climbing rocks or hiking through a prairie or sitting with your loved ones (2 or 4-legged varieties) while watching the sun fade away for the evening or cooking a meal with ingredients grown from your own garden. There is also nothing more inspiring than to receive guidance from experienced professionals who themselves have "been through it" - experienced a transformation through nature. And never before has the need for holistic nature-based education been so great. We are living in a world ridden with nature-deficit disorders and our mission is to do what we can to mitigate this issue.
"Today it is not uncommon to hear people speak of trying "to get back to nature," to get "in touch with the Earth once more." The truth is, we have never been out of touch. We are always connected to the Earth and it to us. Everything we do repercusses upon it, and everything within it repercusses on us. Unfortunately, most choose to ignore it or are unable to recognize it. The saddest part is that when we fail to revere any aspect of nature and our intimate connection to it, we are failing to revere intimate aspects of our own self." -Ted Andrews, in "Animal Speak" |
